met and were married in Seattle Washington in the summer of 2000.
At the heart of this union, was a love of food, art, music and family.
Kari, a visual artist with a huge and eclectic CD collection,
was fresh from a month long trip to India.
Adam was a veteran musician who had spent the previous decade playing
in bands around Seattle's music scene.
They both loved to cook and spent the early years of their marriage
exploring different ethnic cuisines and cooking for their friends.
After relocating to Kari's roots in Central Indiana, the couple decided to launch a project
that would combine their artistic, aesthetic and culinary loves into one badass rolling testament to spice, flavor and fun.
So they found an old panel truck somewhere north of Detroit. Renovated it themselves.
Stuck an image of their bulldog, Cowboy (The Flesh Torpedo), on the back. And...Taco Lassi was born.
Kari and Adam met in the ring, at a Mexican wrestling event in the border town of Tijuana.
She was a beautiful and dangerous upstart who wore a golden mask and a sari-like cape,
with the nom de plume', "La Loto Loco" (The Crazy Lotus).
He was a grizzled veteran of the "B" circuit and was known simply as "Habo Mano" (Habanero Hands).
In his glory days, the crowds loved Habo Mano's signature move,
where he would pin his opponent to the mat and gouge at his eyes with his pepper infused digits.
She was a rising star. He was a washed up has been reduced to wrestling donkeys, teams of midgets and worst of all, women.
Years later, the story of that fateful night in Tijuana would change depending on who was telling it.
Adam claimed he let La Loto pin him as a way out of the business he had grown so tired of.
Kari would roll her eyes and quietly shake her head, remembering the site of her future husband
soaring like a flightless bird off the top turnbuckle,
as she deftly stepped aside and guided his head to the mat.
She would never be completely sure whether it had been a wink or a final blink
as he turned his head and faced her triumphant upon his chest....
